BASIC INFORMATION

Selection Process

The selection process generally includes the following stages

 

      • Physical Fitness Test (PFT)

        This test assesses the candidate’s physical fitness through activities such as a 1.6 km run, pull-ups, and other endurance tests.
      • Physical Measurement Test (PMT)

        Candidates must meet the prescribed physical standards, including height, chest measurements, and weight.
      • Medical Examination

        A thorough medical examination is conducted to ensure that the candidate is medically fit to serve in the Army.
      • Written Examination

        The Common Entrance Examination (CEE) is conducted for candidates who qualify in the PFT and medical tests. It includes subjects like General Knowledge, Maths, and Logical Reasoning, depending on the category applied for.

 

   Physical Standards

      • Height

        Minimum height requirements generally range from 162 cm to 170 cm depending on the region and category.
      • Chest

        A minimum chest measurement with expansion is required (typically around 77 cm unexpanded and 82 cm expanded).
      • Weight:

        Weight should be proportionate to height and age as per medical standards.

 

   Application Process

      • The application process is conducted online through the official Indian Army recruitment portal.
      • Candidates must register, fill out the application form, upload necessary documents, and submit the application.

 

   Preparation Tips

    • Physical Fitness

      Regular physical training is essential, focusing on running, strength training, and endurance exercises.
    • Study the Syllabus

      For the written exam, focus on the relevant subjects like General Knowledge, Mathematics, and Logical Reasoning.
    • Health and Diet

      Maintaining a healthy diet and lifestyle is important to meet the physical and medical standards required for the role.

The Indian Army Agniveer Bharti is a recruitment process under the Agnipath Scheme, launched by the Indian government to recruit young individuals into the Indian Armed Forces, including the Army, for a short-term period of four years. The recruits under this scheme are known as "Agniveers."

Age Limit

Candidates must be between 17.5 to 21 years of age. There may be some relaxation in age criteria for specific categories as per government rules.

    • Educational Qualification:

      The educational qualifications vary depending on the role.
  • General Duty (GD) Soldier

    Candidates must have passed the 10th standard with at least 45% marks in aggregate and 33% in each subject.
  • Technical Soldier

    Candidates should have passed the 10th/12th/ITI standard or in Science with Physics, Chemistry, Maths, and English, with at least 50% marks in aggregate and 40% in each subject.
  • Clerk/Store Keeper Technical (SKT)

    Candidates must have passed the 12th standard with at least 60% marks in aggregate and 50% in each subject. They should have studied English and Maths/Accounts/Bookkeeping in Class 12th or 10th.
  • Tradesmen

    Candidates must have passed the 10th standard for certain trades or the 8th standard for others.
  • Physical Standards

    Candidates must meet specific physical standards, including height, chest measurements, and weight, which may vary based on the region and category.
